Victoria Falls Cricket Club has cancelled the 2021 edition of the Fallen Friends Tournament due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The tournament which has been going on for more than 20 years is hosted every February by teams from Victoria falls, Maun and Panamatenga. This year because of travel restrictions, these teams will not be able to travel to Victoria falls – which was meant to host the event this year

“The tournament is held normally in February and is a tri-hosted tournament between teams from Victoria Falls, Maun and Panametenga.

“So the hosting of this tournament is shared – each one of those team would host the tournament in alternating years. This year we should have been hosting the tournament but that is cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Kevin Fry, a representative of Victoria Falls Cricket Club.

However the club is going ahead with plans to play out the winter league and to host the Victoria Falls Slog-out in August.
